In the UK there is a keenly anticipated yet often elusive event called an Indian Summer. This is when, usually after a typically damp and not that warm August, there are at least two consecutive warm sunny days in September. This is cause for huge excitement, with cries of "Brian, let's get the BBQ back out!" and "Maureen, have you seen my trunks?" filling the air. But be fooled not, it's merely a temporary blip and if you're not careful you'll find yourself shivering at the bus stop in your tiny vest as the real weather makes its sudden return. In short, it's time to get your long-sleeved game on and yes, that applies to all those little folks as well.
Back in 2011 the lovely Jonathan Bailey from @buttonbooks asked me if I'd like to create a book based on some paper animals I'd designed. One book has now turned into six and as you might spot in this video they have also been published in Swedish, Chinese, French, Italian, US and (very soon) German.
Soon our latest book, The Sky Guys, will be hitting the shelves. I think this might be my favourite one yet. With words by Jason Hook, we take a look at some of the most spectacular bird species on the planet and of course, there are 5 paper models to pop out and glue as well.
Come along to hear me read my new books "The Forest Folk" and "The Marine Team" at the Book Nook in Hove, this Saturday 7th Nov at 11am. There will be animals to colour and glue too! Suitable for 3-8 year olds. Hopefully see you there.
