Paper Lynx - Download
There is growing momentum for the re-introduction of the lynx into the UK after an absence of many centuries. Scotland or the north of England are the most likely candidates for this ambitious move and public consultations are underway to assess feasibility. Not everyone is on board, farmers generally hate the idea (perceived sheep threat) and a proportion of the public may struggle with the idea of a large-ish predator roaming free in our highly tame countryside (let's face it; in recent years, the biggest predator out there has been the badger). There are countless pros to the idea; not just the inherent value of their presence but also practical benefits such as natural deer control and potential revenue from tourism. I’ll leave it to you to decide.
